Firstly, as you are aware, we had already explained everything to you in person when you visited the college regarding why your friend received admission and you did not.
However, we are sharing this again here—so that other students can learn from this and avoid making the same mistake.
There is a provision called the Linguistic Minority Quota, under which students belonging to a specific linguistic community (like Gujarati, Sindhi, etc.) can apply for admission to colleges in Mumbai that have minority status. Detailed information about this quota is available on the official mahafyjcadmission portal.
Your friend was alert and aware of this provision. He smartly selected our college under the Linguistic Minority Quota and hence secured admission in the Second Merit List.
We checked your application on the same portal, and unfortunately, you did not select our college under the minority quota, even though the admission department had provided a clear window to do so between 10th July and 13th July 2025.
The college had also displayed clear step-by-step instructions at the entrance to guide students through the process—but you missed following the correct steps.
Our college strictly follows the official admission rules and can only admit students who complete the process properly and within the given timeline.
To all students reading this:
Please make sure to regularly check the mahafyjcadmission portal for important updates, instructions, and deadlines. If you're ever unsure, please visit the college and speak to the staff—we are always here to help and guide you.
Note: The rules and procedures are the same for both Aided and Unaided sections. However, seats in the Aided section are very limited. Therefore, only students who fill the forms correctly, choose appropriate quotas, and follow all timelines will be considered for admission.
Best regards,
Admission Committee
